Want to learn how to schedule TikTok posts on desktop and mobile? You’ve come to the right place.

So, how exactly do you go about scheduling TikTok posts? Though TikTok has a built-in scheduling feature, it has its limitations. A few third-party tools (Hopper HQ being one of them) can help you schedule your TikTok posts in advance, while, at the same time, centralizing all your social media in one place.

In this blog post, we’ll review the steps for scheduling TikTok posts using a few of these tools on desktop and mobile devices.

So, let’s get started.

How to Schedule TikTok Posts Natively on Desktop

The TikTok desktop website allows creators and business accounts to schedule a TikTok post on the web upload page. Once scheduled, the post will be visible on both the web and mobile app versions of TikTok.

Here’s how to schedule TikTok posts with the TikTok native video scheduler:

  1. The first step to accessing TikTok desktop scheduling is changing your account type to a business or creator account. To do so, go to Settings > Account and change your account type.
  2. Log in to your account on tiktok.com on your web browser.
  3. Click on the + Upload icon at the top right corner
  1. You’ll be directed to upload and edit your video, add your caption, hashtags, edit your cover image, and set your privacy settings.

5. Toggle the schedule button and choose a date and time to schedule your post. TikTok will use the time zone of your computer settings.

  1. All left to do is Click schedule and you’re done! You should receive a message similar to the one below.

How to edit a scheduled post on tiktok

It’s worth noting that once your video is scheduled, you won’t be able to make any edits to the video, caption, hashtags, or scheduled time.

If you wish to edit your video or scheduled time, you need to delete the scheduled post, make the edits, and then re-upload it.

Once your scheduled video is posted, TikTok will send you a push notification to let you know your post is live.

Schedule TikTok Posts with Hopper HQ

Scheduling TikTok posts from your desktop is a convenient way to plan out your content in advance and take some of the pressure from constantly being on your phone. That’s where Hopper HQ comes in, a social media scheduling platform that allows you to schedule posts across multiple platforms, including TikTok.

Once your TikTok account is connected, you can begin creating your TikTok post. Click on the “Create Post” button. You’ll then be able to upload your TikTok video directly from your PC by clicking the “Choose File” button and selecting the video file from your computer.

3) Schedule your TikTok post

After you’ve uploaded your video, you can set the date and time you want the post to go live. Simply select the desired date and time from the calendar and clock icons on the Hopper HQ dashboard.

And that’s it! Your TikTok video will be scheduled and ready to publish! You don’t need to worry about it anymore, Hopper HQ will do the rest!

How to Schedule TikTok Posts on Mobile

Currently, you are not able to schedule TikTok posts using the native TikTok mobile app. If you want to schedule using TikTok you need to log in through the desktop and then follow the steps mentioned in the section below.

To be able to schedule TikTok posts on mobile, you will have to consider a third-party TikTok scheduler, like for example Hopper HQ. By using a tool like Hopper HQ you’ll be able to schedule content on a variety of social media channels in just a few clicks.

Remember that if you’re not seeing the scheduling option on your desktop account, then you’re most likely using a personal account rather than a business one.

TikTok Desktop vs. Hopper HQ

While the TikTok app does have its built-in Video Scheduler, it has some limitations that may not be suitable for everyone. That’s where Hopper HQ comes in.

TikTok Native Video Scheduler is a useful tool for scheduling your TikTok posts in advance, but it does have some limitations that you should be aware of.

Limitations of the TikTok Video Scheduler

  • Limited number of posts: It only allows you to schedule up to 10 posts per month
  • Limited scheduling timeline: You can only schedule TikTok posts up to 10 days in advance
  • No editing flexibility: Once you’ve scheduled a post, you cannot edit or change the schedule, video, or caption. You have to delete it and start over.
  • You cannot schedule posts to multiple TikTok accounts
  • You cannot schedule your TikTok post to other social media platforms

As a result, if you have multiple videos you want to schedule for more than 10 days in advance, you’ll have to repeat the scheduling process for each batch. This can be time-consuming and impractical for content creators who want to schedule many posts at once.

Another limitation of the TikTok Video Scheduler is that it does not allow you to schedule posts to multiple accounts. It’s simply a way to schedule a single post in advance. If you want to schedule multiple posts or create a posting schedule that repeats regularly, you’ll need to use a different tool.

Advantages of using Hopper HQ to schedule TikTok posts

Schedule TikToks Ahead of Time

One of the main advantages of using Hopper HQ is the ability to plan your TikTok feed ahead of time. With the TikTok built-in Video Scheduler, you can only schedule posts 10 days in advance, while with Hopper HQ, you can plan out your entire TikTok feed months in advance with no limit on future scheduling. This can be especially helpful for content creators trying to maintain a consistent posting schedule.

Bulk Schedule TikTok Posts

With the TikTok Video Scheduler, you can only schedule one post at a time, which can be time-consuming if you have multiple posts you want to schedule in advance.

With Hopper HQ, you can bulk upload up to 50 tiktok posts and plan out your entire TikTok feed in advance, then bulk edit and schedule all of your posts at once.

Schedule Captions and Hashtags

You can schedule captions and hashtags along with your posts. This can save you time and ensure your content is properly captioned and hashtagged when it goes live.

Edit and Reschedule

One of the standout features of Hopper HQ is the ability to edit and reschedule scheduled posts. This can be incredibly useful if you want to make changes to a post before it goes live or if you need to reschedule a post due to unforeseen circumstances. With the built-in Video Scheduler, you can’t make any changes to scheduled posts, so this is a major advantage of using Hopper HQ.

The TikTok Grid Planner and Calendar Planner

In addition to these features, Hopper HQ offers a grid planner and a calendar planner, which can help you visualize your content and plan your posting schedule. The grid planner lets you see a beautiful feed of all your scheduled posts, while the calendar planner shows you a calendar view of your scheduled content. Both of these features can help plan out your content and ensure that you’re posting consistently.

Content Repurposing

Finally, Hopper HQ allows you to repurpose your TikTok content for other platforms without the watermark, such as Instagram. This can be a great way to get more mileage out of your content and reach a wider audience.

Hopper HQ offers a range of useful features that can help you save time and better manage your TikTok presence.

7 Tips to Perfect Your TikTok Posting Schedule

Once you’ve learned how to schedule TikTok posts using the in-built Video Scheduler or other third-party tools, it’s important to take the time to perfect your posting schedule.

Consistency is key on TikTok, as it helps to keep your followers engaged and ensures that as many people see your content as possible.

Here are a few tips for building a TikTok content calendar and finding the perfect posting schedule:

1) Determine your TikTok posting frequency

A good rule of thumb, if you’re just starting out on TikTok, is to aim for 1 to 3 posts per day. Striking a balance between posting too often and not posting often enough is important. If you post too often, you risk overwhelming your followers. On the other hand, not posting often enough makes you less likely to build and maintain a strong following or get on the For You page.

2) Set aside dedicated time for creating content

To stick to a consistent posting schedule, set aside dedicated time for creating and curating content. This could be a few hours each week or a specific day of the week that you set aside for content creation.

By setting aside dedicated time for creating content, you can focus on creating high-quality TikToks that’ll resonate with your audience. Plus, having a consistent posting schedule helps you grow your following and boost engagement on the platform.

3) Use a content calendar

One way to perfect your TikTok posting schedule is by using a TikTok content calendar. A content calendar is a tool that helps you plan and organize your content in advance. It allows you to see what content you have coming up and when it will be posted so you can ensure a consistent posting schedule.

Using a content calendar can also help you stay organized and save time. You can schedule your content for the week or month in advance, so you don’t have to worry about trying to come up with the content on the spot. This can be especially helpful if you’ve got a busy schedule and don’t have much time to dedicate to creating content.

To create a content calendar for your TikTok account, start by brainstorming ideas for content. This could be anything from dance challenges to informative videos to funny skits. Write down all your ideas in a spreadsheet or Google Doc, and assign a date and time to each content piece.

By mapping out your content in advance, you ensure that you have a steady stream of content to post and avoid any last-minute scrambling to come up with something to post.

4) Find the best time to post

Research the best times to post on TikTok. This can vary based on your target audience and location, but the best times to post on TikTok are weekday evenings and weekends.

Consider the time zone of your target audience. If you’ve got a global audience, you may want to consider posting at different times to reach people in different time zones. As explained in the Attrock guide, 2 pm on Mondays, 4 pm on Wednesdays, and 8 am on Saturdays can be good times to target a US audience.

5) Use TikTok analytics

One of the most useful tools for perfecting your TikTok posting schedule is the platform’s built-in analytics and insights feature, which shows you the number of views, likes, comments, and shares your posts have received.

This can help you understand which posts perform well and which don’t. You can then use this information to adjust your posting schedule to ensure that you are posting content that your followers are interested in.

Another helpful feature in the analytics and insights tool is the “Followers” tab, which shows you information about your followers, including their age, gender, and location. This can be useful in determining the best time to post, as you can see when your followers are most active on the platform.

Find your best time to post ⏰

Schedule your social media posts at your optimal times and watch your engagement skyrocket with Hopper HQ!

6) Experiment with different posting times.

Different times of day will yield different levels of engagement, so it’s important to experiment with different posting times to see what works best for your audience. You can use the analytics provided by TikTok or Hopper HQ to see when your followers are most active and plan your posts accordingly.

While a consistent posting schedule is important, it’s also important to stay flexible. If a particularly engaging trend or challenge emerges on TikTok, it may be worth deviating from your usual posting schedule to take advantage of the opportunity.

To Wrap It Up

Whether you’re a content creator looking to streamline your posting process or just someone who wants a little more control over their social media presence – scheduling TikTok posts is a step in the right direction.

Overall, Hopper HQ is excellent for those looking for a more robust scheduling tool for TikTok. With the ability to schedule posts for multiple accounts and platforms and the convenience of scheduling from both mobile and desktop devices, it’s a useful tool for anyone looking to streamline their social media presence.

So give it a try and see how it can help you better manage your TikTok presence.

Not sure where to start with your marketing to Gen Z? Video content may be your best bet…

Looking to connect with Gen Z and turn them into raving fans? Check out these 11 tips for leveraging video content to market to Gen Z. From creating a community to celebrating individuality, you’ll reach Gen Z where they are and create content that resonates.

Automate your video posting 🎥

Bulk upload, schedule, and repurpose your video content for TikTok & Instagram Reels in seconds with Hopper HQ!

As the first generation to come of age in the era of social media, Gen Z is a particularly tough group to market to. They’re savvy, skeptical, and more likely than any other generation to ignore traditional advertising.

But there’s one medium that still has their attention: video content.

Engaging and relatable video content on TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Youtube allows you to connect with Gen Zers on a personal level, build brand trust, and create a community of loyal fans.

In this blog post, we’ll discuss 11 ways you can use video content to turn Gen Z into your raving fans.

Why does marketing to Gen Z matter?

Generation Z is the new kid on the block—and they’re here to shake things up. Born between 1997 and 2012, Gen Z is the most diverse, connected, and entrepreneurial generation in history.

They’re also a major force to be reckoned with: In 2020, they made up 32% of the global population and accounted for $360 billion in spending power.

Marketing to Gen Z

As digital natives, Gen Z has always been comfortable with technology—and that’s reflected in their spending habits. They’re more likely than any other generation to research a product online before making a purchase, and they’re not afraid to shop around for the best deals.

But don’t mistake their frugality for a lack of spending power:

  • 64% prefer to pay more for eco-friendly products.
  • 73% only shop for products from the brands they believe in.
  • 97% of Gen Zers use social media to research the things they want to buy.

Gen Z also values:

  • Authentic and transparent brands
  • Connection and community
  • Experiences over things
  • Making a difference
  • Security

Why is video content important for Gen Z?

It’s no secret that Gen Z is a highly digitised generation. They are the first generation to grow up with smartphones and social media, and as a result, they have shorter attention spans and prefer bite-sized content that is easily digestible.

Enter videos

Video content is the perfect format for Gen Zers because:

  • It is highly engaging and can be consumed quickly on the go.
  • Platforms like Instagram and TikTok are extremely popular with this demographic, and video content suits these platforms well.
  • Videos are also highly shareable, which is essential for reaching Gen Z.
  • With their tech-savvy nature, Gen Z can easily create videos with built-in video editors on Instagram and TikTok or use video editing software to grab users’ attention and keep them hooked with their creative and entertaining videos.

11 Marketing strategies to win Gen Z using videos

Now that we’ve seen why video content works best for Gen Z, let’s see how you can leverage it. We’ll also analyse plenty of examples along the way, so keep reading below:

1. Emphasise your brand’s mission

When marketing to Gen Z, it is important to emphasise your brand’s mission. This generation is highly idealistic and wants to know that the brands they support share their values.

Emphasising your brand’s mission will make Gen Zers feel like they’ve become part and parcel of that mission. That’s how you can create a loyal brand community around your mission and shared values.

And this community will purchase your products.

Levi’s Buy Better, Live Longer campaign proves this point. The company highlights its numerous sustainability practices, leveraging Gen Z’s intrinsic care for our planet’s faith.

The brand partnered with six activists to drive its point across. And they’re all archetypes of the Z generation:

  • Xiye Bastida: Mexican-Chilean activist with indigenous origins, leader of the Re-Earth Initiative
  • Marcus Rashford: Gen Z football player and advocator against child hunger and homelessness
  • Melati Wijsen: Indonesian climate activist
  • Jaden Smith: 501cTHREE founder and Just Water co-founder
  • Xiuhtezcatl: Indigenous climate activist
  • Emma Chamberlain: High-profile Gen Z influencer

2. Use interactive content

Interactive content is a good strategy because Gen Z love to be involved and interact with the world around them.

Tactics include:

  • Interactive video content: You can create quizzes, polls, and other types of interactive elements that will encourage Gen Zers to participate.
  • Allowing Gen Zers to contribute their ideas and creations. You can do this by hosting competitions or challenges that enable them to show off their creativity.
  • Using Augmented Reality (AR): This is a great way to make your video content more interactive and engaging, and incorporating an AI Video generator can further enrich this experience. Gen Zers love AR experiences and are more likely to share them with their friends.

For example, JD, a sports retailer in the UK, partnered with Nike to create an AR-based campaign promoting the launch of Nike Air VaporMax.

@sriracha.el #ad Shuffling my way around Edinburgh ✨@jdofficial #JDVaporMaxShuffle ♬ V Shuffle – Loud Parade ft. Morrisson and OXi

TikTokers can try their Nikes using augmented reality. They can also post their videos using the #JDVaporMaxShuffle branded hashtag, thus giving the campaign momentum with user-generated content. This #JDVaporMaxShuffle hashtag campaign got over 3.2 billion views on TikTok.

Grow Your Audience With #Hashtags

Discover better hashtags to reach the more people, grow your follower count and get more engagement on your posts.

3. Use a hook

Using a hook allows you to create relatable, shareable content that can go viral. To do this, leverage controversy, your audience’s values, and their interests.

You can also pack your message leveraging the current challenges and trends on TikTok.

Remember to:

  • Not be too salesy
  • Provide value
  • Include a clear CTA
  • Choose a good thumbnail to generate more clicks

Nike offers another good example with its “Ask Athletes” series. These TikToks:

  • Feature explicit thumbnails with the “Ask Athletes” banner; that’s what motivates people to click on them
  • Are catchy and fast-paced
  • Provide value because they’re motivational and inspiring
  • Do not have explicit written CTAs, but every athlete in these clips is wearing Nike clothing, thus offering an implicit CTA

4. Use the right channels

Studies show that Gen Z uses these channels predominantly:

  • TikTok
  • Instagram
  • YouTube
  • Snapchat

Why?

Video content is highly versatile. You can listen to it without pictures while going on with your daily life, or you can watch it with no sound while watching a B-rated Netflix movie with your friends.

Mogo.ca offers a good example in this department, with Carter Sullivan as their spokesperson. Carter discusses the mobile app’s advantages on YouTube, detailing how the app helped her manage her finances.

This authentic, detailed video aims to convince more people in her generation to try Mogo. The strategy works because Gen Z is very interested in their finances.

5. Incorporate UGC

The point of incorporating user-generated content in your strategy is to turn Gen Z fans into your own brand’s creators. You can encourage UGC by:

  • Working with influencers
  • Creating a specific campaign with a clear hashtag that helps you track the user-generated content created
  • Giving your followers clear guidelines regarding the content they have to create
  • Using incentives that can range from discounts to the chance of winning a prize or even recognition

Laura Mercier’s #readySETgo challenge is a good example because:

  • It gives TikTokers the chance to show their transformation using Laura Mercier products and creates more brand awareness.
  • The campaign brings people together as they celebrate specific values like inner beauty.
  • TikTokers get the chance to be creative and thus gain appreciation in their community.
  • The campaign is scalable; One influencer encouraged TikTok users to recreate the #readySETgo tutorial for a chance to win $1000 worth of Laura Mercier products.

The campaign’s soundtrack went viral. In the example below, CharqueryGrills got over 15k likes using the #readySETgo audio as a basis for this recipe inspo:

6. Leverage influencer-created content

Influencer-created content is similar to UGC because the influencers:

  • Have creative freedom
  • Can give their honest opinion on your brand

The differences (read, advantages) are that:

  • You may have an agreement outlining the number of posts, the type of content they are allowed to publish, and the frequency.
  • Influencers know how to produce more professional-looking videos.
  • You have access to a larger audience who trusts that influencer.

In exchange, you can either offer the influencers a free product (product seeding), pay them per post, or on the number of sales their posts generate.

Pro tip: To avoid legal issues or being duped by fake influencers, partner with a TikTok influencer agency. The best agencies give you access to a database of trustworthy, professional influencers and can assist you with your TikTok strategy.

One good example is Dr Wallace Nozile, MD, showcasing the iWALKFree Hands-Free Crutches.

The video shows him testing these crutches in his home, and you can notice the absence of special effects. That, along with the personal disclosures on the right-side text, generates increased authenticity.

That authenticity:

  • Makes the video and product memorable.
  • Fosters trust in the iWalkFree crutches.

And those are essential ingredients to boost awareness and increase sales.

7. Leverage the power of video in marketing e-mails

Using video in your email newsletters has several advantages:

  • It can improve click-through rates by 65%.
  • 64% of shoppers are more likely to purchase your products.
  • The cost per lead drops by 19%.

One example is Spotify’s incorporating video in their marketing e-mail to explain how their Framer X works. This e-mail brings relevant help to Spotify users, responding to one of their poignant needs.

8. Tap into Gen Z FOMO with time-sensitive posts

You can use FOMO (fear of missing out) to your advantage by creating time-sensitive content.

This kind of content:

  • Builds a sense of urgency
  • Encourages social sharing
  • Creates a “ripple effect” that gets more people interested in your brand

Guess’s #InMyDenim challenge offers a good example because the campaign lasted only six days. Therefore, TikTokers had a limited interval to show their beautiful transformations using Guess jeans.

The results are astounding:

  • 5,500 UGC videos
  • 10.5 million views
  • 14.3% engagement rate
  • 12,000 new TikTok followers
@ourfire Don’t you wish getting ready was this easy? 😂❤🔥 #inmydenim #sponsored @guess ♬ #inmydenim I’m a Mess – Bebe Rexha

9. Leverage #hashtags

Leveraging hashtags helps you track your brand mentions and expose your content to new audiences.

Pro tip: Use relevant and popular hashtags, as well as branded hashtags unique to your business. These hashtags have to be short, memorable, and relevant.

For example, Laura Mercier’s #ReadySetGo hashtag Implies that people can get ready with these products immediately, and suggests the fast-paced video format.

Find the best time to post, track your follower growth, and understand what content works best with post and account analytics.

10. Don’t be afraid to show off that sense of humour

Why is it important to use humour when marketing to Gen Z? It’s easy: funny videos are more likely to go viral.

But that’s not the only reason:

  • Humour can make your brand more relatable, which helps you connect with potential customers on a deeper level.
  • It can help you stand out from the competition.
  • People are more likely to remember your brand if you make them laugh.

Washington Post does a great job of using humour even if it’s a serious publication:

@washingtonpost In climate change news: this map shows where extreme heat records were broken across the United States during summer 2022. #climateanxiety #climatechange2022 #climatecrisis #newsreporterlady ♬ original sound – Mark Humphries

The TikTok video above tackles climate change, which is an essential issue for Gen Z. The humour stems from different aspects:

  • The inherent human instinct to eventually see the amusing side of the things we cannot control
  • The little dance associated with the presenter’s serious face
  • The voice-over

And you can think of even more reasons why this video is funny.

But the real question is, why present an important issue for Gen Z in an amusing way?

How does this convince them to purchase a Washington Post subscription?

The clip humanises the publication, which helps create a connection with potential readers. It also shows that The Washington Post is not afraid to have a little fun, even if it means breaking the mould of traditional news media.

And Gen Z is all about challenging patterns.

Here’s another great example of the Washington Post using humor in covering the Brazilian presidential elections:

@washingtonpost Lula won on pledges to defend democracy, save the Amazon rainforest and bring social justice to Latin America’s largest nation. #brazil #sweetvictory #spongebob ♬ original sound – FanDuel

11. Highlight your brand’s beliefs and values

This strategy works because:

  • It attracts like-minded people to your brand
  • It helps you build a strong community around your products or services
  • It sets you apart from the competition

A good example is WNRS (We’re Not Really Strangers), a card game that has been created to empower meaningful connections with others.

That’s what the brand sells: not a card game but the promise of finding that spark or connection with others.

Why does it work?

  • Gen Z believes that people are interconnected. The generation craves hyperconnectivity and, as such, sees it everywhere in the Universe.
  • The WNRS clips show universal truths that anyone can relate to.

As a result, people want to be part of this community that speaks the truths they feel.

Best Gen Z marketing campaigns

In addition to the examples above, let’s discuss five of the best Gen Z marketing campaigns:

1. #ChipotleLidFlip Challenge

The campaign went viral extremely fast because young people wanted to show off their skills. Gen Z-ers crave to be part of a community and appreciate laidback, fun challenges.

Pro tip: Notice the memorable branded hashtag which differentiates the campaign and offers clear instruction to the audience.

@daviddobrik #ChipotleLidFlip @chipotle #ad ♬ Flip – Future

2. Guess’s #InMyDenim

This campaign deserves a second mention because it was extremely well orchestrated. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have gotten so many views, new followers, and UGC posts in just six days.

3. Netflix “Guess the Show” Series

The series encompasses all the features a campaign should have, especially one with a Gen Z audience that unfolds on TikTok.

Therefore, we’re looking at:

  • A challenge to guess popular shows that Gen Z-ers watch
  • The chance to connect with a community of fans
  • The fun of “getting it” and being right
  • A spot-on hashtag that catches people’s attention, telling them what they’re in for and what to do in just three simple words

Here’s an example promoting Netflix’s “Locke and Key” show:

@netflix no hints from me🤐🤐🤐 #guesstheshow #netflix ♬ original sound – Netflix

4. #ThousandDollarCrocs

This Crocs campaign offers another good example because:

  • It unleashes people’s creativity as they customise their $1,000 Crocs.
  • It connects with an intrinsic value: the need for authenticity. The campaign description specifically says it embodies the “Come As You Are mentality.”
  • People participating in this campaign aim to show the world “IM GONNA BE whatever I want,” as per the original description. As such, the campaign:
    • Creates a community of people who appreciate connection and diversity.
    • Specifically targets Gen Zers who have adopted these two guiding values.
@rayann_prophet Ready for Christmas🎄 @crocs #ThousandDollarCrocs #christmas #crocs #foryou #famous ♬ Underneath the Tree – Kelly Clarkson

5. Instagram “We Make Today”

Instagram celebrates creativity, individuality, and self-expression; that’s this campaign’s message. The platform wants to let its users know they matter and are beautiful regardless of how they choose to present themselves to the world.

Leveraging significant values like community, inclusion, individuality, and self-expression is a powerful nudge to Gen Z because they share the same principles.

Through this campaign, Instagram aims to become:

  • Relatable
  • Authentic
  • Trustworthy

And considering Ogilvy orchestrated the whole thing, it’s no wonder it achieved its goals.

Are you marketing to Gen Z?

Video is one of the most powerful tools you have at your disposal when it comes to marketing to Gen Z. It allows you to connect with them on a personal level, show them who you are as a brand, and create a community of raving fans.

So, what are you waiting for? Start creating video content that will turn Gen Z into your biggest fans today!

Find out how to remove the TikTok watermark in 7 different, easy ways ✨

TikTok’s short-form video content has made it a popular platform with millions of users and brands creating entertaining and educational TikToks to engage with their target audience.

If your videos are doing well on TikTok, why stop there? You may want to share your TikTok videos on Instagram as reels or crosspost them on your other social media platforms.

The only problem? When you download a video from TikTok, you’ll notice the TikTok watermark embedded into that video. This isn’t ideal because the Instagram algorithm demotes reels which have the TikTok watermark on them, making your videos less likely to be shown or recommended to other users.

So, If you’re repurposing your TikTok content for other social media platforms, it’s best to remove the TikTok watermark.

Luckily, there are many ways to remove the TikTok watermark (without the need for complicated video editing tools). Read on to find the best one for you:

What is a TikTok watermark?

The Tiktok watermark is the superimposed TikTok logo with the username of the original poster that’s placed on TikTok videos. This is important for copyright and marketing reasons to make the origin of the media clear, so others can’t repost the videos without attribution.

TikTok adds a bouncing watermark that moves around the video as it plays, making it harder to remove it.

How to remove the TikTok watermark?

There are multiple ways to remove the TikTok watermark, some of those options are better than others. Whether you’re using your phone or computer, here are 7 methods for removing the TikTok watermark.

Let’s dive into each of these methods to see which one’s right for you:

Repost TikTok Videos to Instagram

Automatically post your TikTok videos to Instagram. without watermark!

1) Use Hopper HQ to cross-publish

You won’t have to worry about downloading the video, copy-pasting any links into any tools or using any video editors to blur out or remove the TikTok watermark. Hopper HQ does that automatically for you!

2) Zoom in and crop the TikTok watermark

You can easily use your phone to crop the video and remove the watermark:

  1. Open the video you want to crop from your Photos
  2. Tap “Edit” from the top right corner
  3. Tap the “Crop” icon at the bottom
  4. Pinch to zoom in and edit the dimensions of the video to crop out the watermark
  5. You’ll need to crop more than one area of your video due to the watermark bouncing around
  6. Tap “Done” to save your new cropped video.

While this approach seems like the simplest option, it is not ideal as it would result in zoomed-in content that would cut parts of the visuals or text from the original video. This approach could also change the aspect ratio of the video and be posted with a margin around the content on other platforms.

For those reasons, cropping results in low-quality-looking videos and is not the best option to remove the TikTok watermark.

3) Add a border and hide it

You can use any simple editing tools on your phone or computer to add a border or frame around your video to cover up the TikTok watermark.

In this example, we’ve used Canva to add a frame to the TikTok video to cover the watermark.

Like the cropping option, adding a border around your video is not ideal as it does not look very appealing and covers a large part of your video; it could cut parts of your video and leave it looking unprofessional and low quality.

4) Use a blur tool to cover it

This approach relies on third-party apps or tools that you can use to add a blur effect on the watermark.

The downside? You will need to add multiple blurs in different places to cover the watermark as it bounces around throughout the video, resulting in multiple blurry areas around your video frame.

Not only does this look unappealing, but it is also quite obvious that there’s a TikTok watermark that’s been blurred out, which some may say defeats the purpose of removing it in the first place.

This could also be time-consuming if you blur each watermark from each video manually one by one.

So, this is not an approach that we would recommend. But we’re giving you all the options:

You can search “blur video” on your phone’s App Store. There are multiple tools and apps designed for the purpose of adding a blur effect on parts of your video, which all generally work the same way.

In this example, we’ve used an app called “Blur video”:

  1. Download the app and allow access to videos
  2. Tap “Start”
  3. Choose the video on which you want to blur the watermark
  4. Choose between “Blur” or “Pixelate” at the top centre of the screen
  5. Tap “Add Blur” or on the bottom-left corner
  6. Move the blur circle around to where your watermark is to blur it out
  7. Add multiple blurs whenever the watermark moves around the video
  8. Tap “Save” after covering all the watermarks

Your video will be saved to your photos with the watermarks blurred or pixelated.

5) Use a TikTok watermark remover app

There’s an overwhelming number of apps that claim to remove the TikTok watermark from your videos.

A quick search for “remove TikTok watermark” on your app store will give you options like SaveTik, TikSaver, TokRepost, TokVideo, TikDown, TokSave, and many more. They all seem confusingly similar, and it can be hard to choose one or tell them apart.

However, there are some things worth knowing before you proceed to download any of these apps:

  1. None of these apps are affiliated with TikTok, and they could stop working if TikTok changes its API.
  2. Read the reviews carefully. While most apps will show a rating of 4 or higher, the reviews tell a different story.
  3. While most of these apps are free to download, they will either bombard you with ads at every step or require a paid subscription to start using them.
  4. Not all of these apps actually remove the watermark. Some of them only curate a saved collection of watermark-free TikToks, without actually downloading them to your phone.

With that in mind, we tried out 2 top-rated tools on the app store; SaveTik and TikSaver.

Both SaveTik and TikSaver work in the same way. They are free to download, however, both are only free for a 3-day trial period; the subscription after that is $10/month or $4/week.

Here’s how to use a TikTok watermark remover app:

  1. Find the video you want to download without the watermark from the TikTok app
  2. Tap “Share”
  3. Select “Copy Link”
  4. Open the App
  5. Paste the link you copied from TikTok
  6. Save the video to your photos without the watermark

6) Using a video editing tool

Using a video editor tool is the most complicated and expensive approach, so proceed with caution.

If you have video editing skills, you can use any video editing tool you have to remove the watermark. For example, the Wondershare UniConverter video editor offers a watermark editor that lets you add or remove any watermarks from your videos.

This tool is not free to use, and pricing starts at $20/month.

Wondershare UniConverter video editor offers a watermark editor

This might not be the best option for you if you do not plan on using the many other features of video editing and only need a watermark remover.

7) Save your video without a watermark in the first place (online)

What’s better than having to remove the watermark? Saving the video without a TikTok watermark in the first place!

There are multiple websites that let you download TikTok videos without the watermark such as SaveTik, MusicalDown.com, MusicalDown.xyz, SnapTik, TikFast and TikMate.

Some of these also offer apps to download on your phone, like SnapTik, but you can also use it online on your pc or desktop if it’s more convenient.

These online tools all work the same way:

  1. Select the video you want to save from the TikTok app on your phone or computer
  2. select the “Share” button
  3. Select “Copy Link”
  4. Go to the online tool of your choosing
  5. Paste the Link into the toolbox
  6. Click “Download”

Your selected video will be downloaded to your device without the watermark as an MP4 file.

Have you ever gone to edit a video on TikTok and noticed that the Adjust Clips option disappeared?

Well, there’s a reason for that! In fact, there are a couple of potential reasons.

Adjust clips option on tiktok

What’s the Adjust Clips option on TikTok?

When you’re editing a video on TikTok, the Adjust Clips option allows you to change the start and end points of your video.

However, sometimes this invaluable feature disappears. Here is why and how to fix it.

Where did the Adjust Clips option on TikTok go?

There are multiple reasons why the Adjust Clips option has disappeared from your TikTok:

1. The video is too short

If your video is too short, the Adjust Clips option will disappear. This is because TikTok doesn’t want you to make your videos too short.

Tiktok wants you to keep the video length around 15 seconds so that people don’t get bored and stop watching. So, if you’re ever editing a video on TikTok and you can’t find the Adjust Clips option, it’s maybe because your video is too short.

Try adding some more footage or extending the start and end points of your existing footage to make your video longer.

2. The video is too long

While the TikTok video editor is incredibly powerful, every tool has its limits. Sometimes, when a video is too long, or there are too many clips, the editor can’t manage the processing on your device.

If you’re looking to produce a very long clip, try editing as you go to minimise the processing and ensure that the option doesn’t disappear.

3. Using Video Green Screen or other incompatible effects

Finally, we’ve noticed that certain filters and effects are not compatible with the TikTok video editor and adjusting clip lengths.

This includes filters and effects that have a heavy requirement for processing including the video greenscreen.

If you need to use video green screen or another incompatible effect, try making and editing your entire TikTok first then adding the clips where you need the special effects.

Removing the TikTok Watermark

Finally, remember that using your videos created on TikTok on other platforms runs the risk of limiting their exposure. For example, if you post a TikTok video on Instagram with the TikTok watermark present, blurred or covered by a border, the Instagram algorithm will reduce its reach and visibility.

To solve this you can simply connect your TikTok account to Hopper HQ, reschedule your video post as an Instagram Reel or to any other platform and Hopper HQ will automatically remove the TikTok watermark for you.

Beware of TikTok watermarks

Using TikTok to create and edit videos and resharing that content on Instagram makes perfect sense when it comes to expanding reach.

Instagram caught up to the growing popularity of TikTok with the launch of Reels.

However, Instagram was not thrilled about users only sharing TikTok content on its platform and treating Reels as the secondary platform.

So, to encourage users to make original Reels content, Instagram has made changes to its algorithm to no longer promote Reels that have a TikTok watermark on them.

Why does the best time to post on TikTok matter?

On social media in general, timing can make or break your content efforts. This is why knowing when to post on TikTok matters. You may also want to look into other similar social channels best times to post, like YouTube and Instagram.

This will be of even more importance if you’re planning on cross-promoting your TikTok content onto other popular channels.

It improves your TikTok engagement rate

Posting at the best times on TikTok means more people will like, share, and comment on your status. This provides you with data and feedback that you can observe and get insights to improve your social media content and campaigns.

It increases the ROI on your social media management efforts

A great social media management tool and quality videos do not automatically produce results.  Posting at the best times ensures that your great content efforts don’t go to waste. You can make the hours you put into creating that quality video and the money you spend on your social media management tool count when you get more eyes on your content.

It increases your brand visibility online

Engaging with the people who already know you is one thing, but bringing your business or brand before new groups of people is another thing that plays a part in increasing your brand visibility.  One way of doing this is to get your content to appear on the ‘For You page on TikTok. The TikTok For You page is an endless stream of a unique selection of videos for TikTok users based on certain factors; These include user interaction and video details like captions and hashtags.

Grow Your Audience With #Hashtags

Discover better hashtags to reach the more people, grow your follower count and get more engagement on your posts.

TikTok also recommends videos to users on the “For You” page based on how much time the user spends on the content. This factor is more important than whether you and the user are in the same geographical location and time zone or not.

This makes posting at the right time when followers can interact with your content very crucial for your success on TikTok. Optimize your content and posting time to fit the habits and interests of your target audience.

How to find your best time to post on TikTok

There is no hard and fast rule for choosing the best time to post on TikTok. But you can find precious insights and trends by trying out these ideas.

1. Find your audience’s locations

The first step to finding the best time to post on TikTok is identifying your audiences’ locations. Time zones vary across different locations and influence the best times to post on TikTok. You have to pick the time your audience is most active to get maximum engagement on your post.

The TikTok Analytics feature provides details on the number of followers you have, their gender and top territories. To access TikTok’s advanced features like Analytics, you will need to upgrade your normal user account into a Business account. It gives you geographical details about your audience and lets you pick a standard time across multiple time zones when most of your audience will be active.

For example, there is a 3-hour time difference between Washington DC and Los Angeles. If your audience is in these two states, you will pick a time that will be the best fit for the different locations.

To find your audience location:

  • Tap on your profile at the bottom of your screen
  • Tap your profile button by the bottom right corner of your phone’s screen
  • Then click on the three horizontal lines by the top right corner of your phone’s screen
  • Click “Creator tools.”
  • Click on “Analytics.”
  • Click the third category on the top, “Followers.”
  • Tap on the “Followers” icon and scroll down to view the “Top Territories.”

Make the most of insights from “Top Territories”

You can also use the insights from “Top Territories” to learn more about the people who engage with your posts. For example, you can learn more about:

  • Their holidays and create content that connects with what they care about at that time of the year. For instance, during festivals like Thanksgiving, Christmas and New year, you can create exciting videos that suit the season.
  • Events happening in their relevant locations. For example, if there’s a crisis or occurrence that connects to your values, vision or message, you have an opportunity to post content related to that. This deepens your connection with them and shows the human side of your business or brand.
  • Their values. This helps you avoid falling into a PR crisis by posting videos that some of your followers consider offensive. Posting content can be counterproductive if your followers perceive it as insensitive.
  • The culture and lifestyle of your audience especially as it connects to your brand’s vision and values.

The best time to post is also about finding the suitable type of post for the seasons of your audience. With these ideas, you can turn TikTok Analytics into a goldmine.

2. Check when your followers are most active

You can monitor your followers’ activity on TikTok using the TikTok Analytics feature or Hopper HQ’s Analytics. It keeps a record of the hours and days in which your audience is most active. With this, you can identify the best times to post on TikTok for better interaction.

You can find your  ‘Followers’ Activity’ in your TikTok account’s Analytics by clicking on the ‘Followers tab’. You’ll find data on the particular time your followers were active on a particular day of the week, as well as the number of followers.

By keeping track of the time your audience is awake and asleep, you’ll be able to plan and schedule content around their most active times. Note that this trend can change based on different factors. So you need to continuously track your audience’s behaviour to have up-to-date information.

Remember that TikTok displays its Analytics time in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), you may need to convert it before posting. It can be daunting to switch between dashboards and tabs to convert this time to the time zone of your audience.

With Hopper HQ’s planner, you can select the ideal posting times for each of your channels and cross-publish your amazing content when your audience is most active. All this without the hassle of removing the tiktok watermark!

Plan & Schedule Your Social Media Posts

3. Leverage data of your high-performing content

TikTok analytics only provides you data on your post for 7, 28, or 60 days, or a custom date range of up to 60 days to keep track of your content’s performance. You can create a spreadsheet with columns for followers’ Metrics like the day and time of posting, the title of the post, likes, comments, shares, views, reach, average watch time, and audience territory.

You can identify your high-performing content from your monthly records and note the pattern of days and times of posting. Test these times to make them your best times to post on TikTok.

For example, if you notice that your posts on Tuesdays and Thursdays by 9 am get more engagement than other posts over a period of time, then you choose Tuesdays and Thursdays 9 am as your best times of posting on TikTok.

4. Use follower analytics to help users find you

Posting at the right time allows TikTokers to easily find you when scrolling through their ‘For You Page’. This is your opportunity to connect with new leads and potential customers.

Use TikTok ‘follower analytics’ to see when your followers are most active. This hints at the best time to schedule posts.

The TikTok follower analytics feature gives you a record of your past performance and followers over some time. To access it, ensure you have a TikTok Business account, go to your profile analytics followers section and scroll to the bottom of the screen for “Follower activity.”

Switch between days and hours to see when your followers are most active on the platform.

To have a concise report on the post engagement,  use  Hopper HQ to effectively schedule TikTok posts. With its analytics feature, you can seamlessly track and monitor your audience’s best time of engagement.

5. Keep an eye on your competitors

You can learn a lot from the success of others. In every niche, there are influencers to learn from. Find competitors that have your target audience and monitor their pattern of posting. Track their posts to see the engagement and try posting on the same days and times as their best-performing content and adjust as needed.

On the other hand, you can choose to post when your competitors are not posting as this can increase the chances of your post being seen. Test both methods to find out what works for your brand.

6. Choose quality over quantity

While increasing the number of posts you make on TikTok might increase your chances of appearing before your followers and audience, you need to post valuable content.  This means your posts should have educational, informational or entertainment value.  Also try to keep the message, voice and tone of your content consistent while exploring creative forms of video content.

One of the pitfalls of producing volumes of content is creating stuff with fluff and wasting people’s time on clickbait. Though TikTok recommends posting three times a day,  you can be flexible and post fewer or more videos a day.  You can also repost high-performing content at a later date.  This works especially when you have new followers who have not gone through your previous posts.

While engaging with your audience, remember you’re building an online reputation that will stick for a long time.  Users who find you today may go through videos that you posted earlier on your profile.  When a user sees a lot of interesting videos they are more likely to follow you.

Also, avoid coming across as too “salesy”.  Your followers want to know that you are interested in them and not just in selling them your products.

Remember that social media is only a digitized version of social interactions.  Your followers want to know you’re interested in truly helping them. It may cost you more time and effort but quality content refines your followers’ perception of your brand and increases the likelihood that they will recommend you to other users on TikTok and other social media platforms.

It is not easy to get more views on TikTok organically regardless if you’re new on TikTok or have been around for a while.

Views are important on TikTok as they can create a snowballing effect. That is the more views a video gets, the more likely it will be served to larger audiences.

But more importantly, the TikTok algorithm relies on how a user views and interacts with your video (watch time and engagement) to learn if they should display your video.

In this article, we will be covering everything essential about marketing on TikTok. But first, let’s understand TikTok’s definition of a view

What is considered a view on TikTok?

On TikTok, a view is considered to be the very second a user starts to play your TikTok video.

This also applies to the scenario where the video auto-plays, loops, or a user rewatches it. Every watch counts as a new unique view.

However, TikTok’s only exception to the view count is when you watch your own video. In this case, you’ll not be considered as a view.

Why am I not Getting Views on TikTok?

If you are getting zero or low views on your TikTok videos, it can come down to several reasons:

1) New accounts:

These may not get views immediately. Research popular trends and create a consistent posting schedule to get your initial views.

2) Sensitive content:

Such as fake blood, though it does not violate TikTok’s terms of service, can be sensitive to certain viewers and can cause drops in views.

3) Low engagement:

This happens when users do not like or share your video and can cause TikTok to stop showing those videos as it is seen as unpopular content.

4) Shadowban:

A shadowban is a light ban on content creators when they violate minor terms of service, and that can be anything related to sharing sensitive content.

5) Posting times:

Posting at the wrong time can be detrimental as you won’t reach your target audience and risk being pushed down by other content creators on the feed.

How much does TikTok pay per view?

TikTok has a Creator Fund that is said to pay around 2 to 4 cents for every 1,000 views, meaning a creator earns between $20 to $40 for every 1 million views. However, how much exactly you’d earn per view is subjective and will most likely depend on certain requirements.

Although, every user who is considering betting paid per view will have to at least meet these requirements, of being over 18, having at least 10,000 followers, and other criteria.

Should you buy TikTok views?

No. It is a bad idea to buy TikTok views since the sites offering the service often use fake accounts or bots to watch your videos.

While seeing a jump in views may feel amazing, this is just a number.

Buying views can cause your engagement rate to fall without authentic likes and shares, which can cause a negative impact on your TikTok account.

Besides, it can be easy to spot an account or post buying fake views, which can reflect poorly on your brand.

So, instead, invest time and focus on making your videos enjoyable. Your post will naturally get likes and shares, allowing the views to pour in organically.

More specifically, here are 11 tips on how to get views on TikTok and create content that will have your followers coming back for more.

How to get more views on TikTok videos?

1. Know your audience

Before anything, it’s important to remember that while all kinds of people use TikTok, the app is primarily home to Gen Z.

43.7% of users on TikTok are between the ages of 18 to 24. They are mainly people who are not interested in overly promotional content.

Instead, they are looking for fun, innovative, and inspiring content on the app. So be authentic and make creative TikTok videos with your audience and their interests in mind.

2. Add hashtags to your TikTok videos

For any brand to gain traction on a social media platform, you need to get users to discover your content in the first place.

With the TikTok algorithm that prioritizes personalization for each user, adding #hashtags can boost your discovery to reach people with relevant interests.

Remember, the main goal is to attract the right followers and monetize your audience. So, pick hashtags that are relevant to your keywords.

Another tip is to add #fyp, #foryou, or #foryoupage tags in your video captions, which would make your videos more likely to surface on people’s For You pages.

@bellapoarch To the 🐝 🐝 🐝 #fyp ♬ M to the B – Millie B

For brands using TikTok marketing, one of the main goals is to land on the For You Page. That is the first page users land on when they open their app.

While it is a curated feed of videos based on your interests and past interactions, popular trends can also end up being featured on everyone’s For You Page.

The thing with trends on TikTok is that they can change weekly, so research popular trends and hop on challenges to make your brand relevant.

For example, Candyfunhouse got 11.4k likes when they hopped on the Stranger Things trend with their own take on what candy each character would like.

@candyfunhouse Did we get it right? #fyp #strangerthings #strangerthings4 #eleven #tv #tvshow #trend ♬ Stranger Things – Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein

4. Grab and hold the viewer’s attention

All engagement is good with TikTok videos. But unlike other social media platforms, watch time,  likes, and shares are the most important metrics on TikTok.

The “batch” theory, one of the most popular theories on the TikTok algorithm, decides if your video gets shown to more people based on the ratio of likes- or engagement-to-views.

Studying effective copywriting formulas such as using open-loop questions or powerful headlines can help grab viewer attention and improve your watch time and views.

Use that same powerful hook as a caption in your video, and you will see results immediately, just like all the videos created by Peachy Slime.

Every video shows the brand’s slime-making process and a user comment or question that prompts a story time, keeping viewers hooked and raking in millions of views.

@peachyslime You’re my favorite if you saw that video 😭 btw Peachybbies.com restocks every Friday at 7pm EST 🚨 #fyp #peachyslime #story #storytime #howto #sosatisfying #tutorial ♬ cooking video – cooking

A trending song or sound effect works like hashtags in a way that TikTok will show your video to someone else who has watched or liked a video with that same sound.

So chances are, if you use a viral song, your video may also go viral!

One example is this TikTok from Savannah Bananas dancing to Lizzo’s #aboutdamntime that got them millions of views.

@thesavbananas How’d we do? @lizzo #savannahbananas #baseball #mlb #dance #aboutdamntime #viral #fypシ #baseballboys ♬ about damn time x promiscuous – Adam Wright

6. Duet or collaborate with other TikTok users

Features like stitching or dueting viral videos work similarly to influencer marketing and are another great way to get more engagement.

The feature allows newer brands to hop on existing trends for better exposure, while more established brands can collaborate with TikTok stars and encourage users to create content.

For instance, the NBA’s tell me you are an NBA Fan without telling me you’re an NBA fan lets other users generate content around their brand, which brings them free publicity.

@nba First time #NBAAllStar ♬ original sound – NBA

7. Upload multiple times a day

It’s hard to predict what will go viral, but the best part about TikTok is the more content you post, the more quickly you can grow.

TikTok recommends that users post new, intentional content regularly, ideally around 1 to 4 times a day.

This is because posting more content will allow you to experiment with different content and amass an audience.

Besides, TikTok’s organic reach is high compared to other social media platforms. Posting the right content at the right time can boost any chances of showing up on viewers’ For You page.

8. Keep your videos short

According to digital communications expert Dan Slee, the optimal TikTok video length is just 15.6 seconds. With a free video cutter and joiner, you can remove mistakes, make your video punchier, or combine multiple clips into one.

The research is based on the top 100 TikTok videos of 2019, where he found that 80% of them were 20 seconds or less, and only 2% of the videos ran the maximum length.

The result is not surprising. As with shorter videos, your videos will have a higher completion rate and a higher chance of being rewatched.

9. Create content that offers value

Though TikTok is about creating trending content, brands should include content that offers value, such as educational or informational content.

Consider the 80/20 rule where 80% of your posts provide value (e.g., inform or entertain) while only 20% promote your business.

Cees Cees Closet does an excellent job at this, sharing entertaining skincare content while promoting her exfoliating product.

10. Research competitors and track your analytics

It doesn’t matter what platform you are in — marketing is a game of competing for your audience’s attention.

Research your competitors and understand their brand message to identify your unique selling point and find opportunities to differentiate your brand from them.

Plus, sign up to TikTok Pro to keep track of your analytics remove any guesswork from your content strategy, and find out what kind of content your audience likes best.

11. Promote your TikTok content

TikTok is most likely only a part of your social media strategy. You probably are active on other social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, or YouTube.

If this is the case, promoting your TikTok content on other channels can create a synergistic marketing plan.

You can also use TikTok in-feed advertising to promote your business and extend your reach to more audiences.

12. Be consistent and post at ideal times

Regular posting keeps your content fresh and ensures that you remain visible to your audience. It helps in building a loyal following, as viewers often look forward to new content from their favorite creators.

Consistency also plays into the platform’s algorithm, increasing the chances of your videos being featured on the For You page, which can significantly boost your views.

Timing is equally crucial. Posting when your audience is most active ensures maximum engagement with your content. Since TikTok’s audience is global, identifying these peak times can be tricky and varies based on your specific audience demographic.

This is where a tool like Hopper HQ becomes invaluable. Hopper HQ simplifies these tasks by allowing you to schedule your videos in advance. This means you can plan and prepare your content when it suits you and have it go live at the best possible time for engagement.

A drop in TikTok views may be due to an algorithm change, or your recent content hasn’t resonated with people in the same way. It can also mean that your content is getting repetitive and that it is time to change your style and experiment with new content.

The TikTok For You page

You need to create an account to log in to the Tiktok app. For this, you can use your social media accounts such as Google or Facebook, your email address, or your phone number.

After logging in, you will see the TikTok “For You” page where you can access the colourful world of TikTok, explore the accounts you can follow, and watch fun Tiktok videos.

tiktok for you page

Do not forget to follow the accounts you like to get relevant TikToks on this page that will appear every time you open the application.

We can say that the “For You” section has the same logic as the discover page of Instagram. The videos you watch over time will also shape the “For You” page.

In addition to the “For You” page, you can also search for the content you may like with the discover icon in the top-right corner of the screen.

As you can see above, hashtags, song titles, or usernames will help you find the content you’re looking for. You can also learn the hashtags created for a TikTok challenge on a certain dance, song, or theme and watch all the users participating in the relevant challenge.

How long are Tiktok videos

Tiktok videos can be 15 seconds, 60 seconds, 3 minutes, or 10 minutes long.

When TikTok was installed, the videos in the app were only 15 seconds long. This short format is designed to grab people’s attention. Perfect for fast consumption when scrolling through an endless stream of video.

Tiktok added a 60-second video option in 2017. This has started to increase the amount of time people spend on the app.

As of 2018, TikTok had over 300 million users. Since then, TikTok has started testing longer uploads, increasing the maximum video length to 3 minutes in July 2021.

Recognizing its tremendous success, the company continued to push for even more long-form content. In early 2022, TikTok expanded video lengths to 10 minutes.

How to edit TikTok videos after posting

Most of the video editing on TikTok is done before posting the video. You can add effects while recording your Tiktok videos or before posting them online.

Unfortunately, TikTok doesn’t allow you to make too many changes to your video once it’s posted online. So, If your video has already been published, you won’t have as many options as you did before publishing the video. But don’t worry, there are some ways in which you can edit TikTok videos and captions after you’ve posted them. let’s dive in:

Method 1: Save and re-upload your TikTok video

1. Go to your profile by clicking the Profile button at the bottom of the screen.

2. Select the Tiktok video you want to change.

3. Tap the 3-dot icon on the right side of your profile. Then select Save Video from the list of options.

This button saves your video to your phone with your effects and music as it is on your TikTok.

4. Once your video is saved, return to the home screen on TikTok and select the + sign to add a new video

5. However, instead of recreating your TikTok video from scratch, select Upload on the right side of the record button and select the video you saved from the list of options.

This allows you to directly upload your original TikTok video. You can now adjust it by changing the effects or adding text.

Method 2: Edit TikTok videos in saved drafts

TikTok drafts are unpublished videos that others can’t view yet. You can still go back and edit videos in draft mode. Here’s how to make edits to a TikTok draft video:

  1. Go to your TikTok profile and tap on Drafts.
  2. Select the video you’d like to edit and publish.
  3. Make the edits you want as you would for a new video
  4. Tap next to publish
Edit TikTok videos in saved drafts

Tiktok Video Editing Apps

While TikTok’s internal editor can be a great tool, it does have its limitations. That’s why many TikTokers use external editing tools and apps with more features and visual effects to take their videos to the next level.

You can find such video editing apps online or in Google Play or App Store.

Here are some Tiktok video editing apps that you may find useful:

“I was reluctant at the beginning, but if you dig out the dances, the memes, and challenges, you can really find great pieces of information there. Tiktok has helped me grow my business around 20%”

@SirHeldarAmos – Twitter

The first perception of most business owners of TikTok is that it is a social media platform for Gen Z, as 47.4% of TikTok active users in the US are aged between 10 and 29. Businesses perceive TikTok as a platform for fun where they can’t properly grow their business, but that’s not entirely true.

Read on to find out why.

What is TikTok?

TikTok is an audiovisual interface that’s focused on creating short outstanding videos.

With its unlimited stream of trending videos on just about anything, you’re almost certain to stumble upon the information you didn’t bargain for.

It’s a social media app with amazing features that enable users to create and edit their own videos and share them with the world.  Users can create a variety of short and entertaining videos, where they lip-sync to background music, comedymake micro-blog content, and more.

@michelleoliviab #autumndecoridea #autumnhouse #microblogging #windowdecoration #livingroomdecoration #lifestylevlogs #fireplacedesign #coffeetablestylingideas #fall ♬ In Love With You – BLVKSHP

TikTok’s short-form content of 15 seconds, 60 seconds, and most recently, 3 minutes is rightly what attracts a growing number of users as it matches the short-attention-span of people nowadays.

It also allows you to upload pre-recorded videos of a maximum length of 10.85 minutes from your gallery.

TikTok is conceivably the most engaging, entertaining and sweetly addictive social media network that shook the internet on its arrival.

TikTok has 1 billion monthly active users. Out of 4.8 billion internet users worldwide, 20.83% use TikTok. With 4.48 billion active social media users, 22.32% use TikTok on a regular basis. TikTok was able to achieve this within 4.9 years of its launch.

TikTok is distinct for increasing brand reach, consumer engagement and creativity.

When did Tiktok come out?

Let’s go through a brief history of TikTok…

A social media app named Musical.ly became popular in 2014. The main purpose of Musical.ly was user-generated videos that combined popular songs with videos. The app was majorly used to create videos where users were lip-syncing and dancing. Surprisingly, the Musical.ly app had an estimate of over 200 Million users by mid-2017.

In 2016, ByteDance, a Chinese app developer launched a rival app to Musical.ly named Douyin. It was launched initially only in China before it was later renamed and rebranded to TikTok for better international appeal. Within a year, the TikTok app had more than 100 million users, and the popularity of lip sync videos continued to rise.

in late 2017, ByteDance acquired Musical.ly for a fee of $800 Million and in 2018 merged the two apps into one under the name TikTok.

In September 2021, TikTok reached one billion active users worldwide, with 142.2 million users in North America.

Who owns TikTok?

TikTok is owned by the Chinese billionaire entrepreneur, Zhang Yiming, founder of ByteDance technology company.

In 2012, Zhang founded ByteDance, a Beijing-based business that provides news aggregation services. The company is said to have had revenues of about 50 billion yuan ($7.4 billion) in 2018, and by 2019, it reported a revenue of $17 billion.

The 38-year-old was named one of Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people in 2019, who described him as “the top entrepreneur in the world”.

TikTok for business

TikTok, like most social media platforms, has different account types and distinct benefits. It has the Creator account and the Business account

TikTok Creator account

When you open a TikTok account, you have default access to the Personal accounts which have no analytics tools and no advanced functionality.

The pro account consists of both the creator’s account and a business account with advanced functions.

The Creators account is similar to a personal account for average content creators. The vast majority of TikTok accounts are creator accounts and come with numerous benefits and tools. However, there are some restrictions that businesses and brands do not find enjoyable.

With a creator’s account, you can only message your friends, this means that your customers won’t be able to communicate with you only if they are your friends.  Another restriction is that to get a website link in your bio, you have to have 1K followers.

Tiktok Business account

It’s important to note that while the overwhelming majority of active TikTokers only enjoy the entertainment and social value of its short-form video sharing capability, along with the tools and freedom it gives them to create, share and interact, TikTok’s developers are already creating new ways for businesses to harness its highly engaging medium for direct consumer marketing.

So, introducing…TikTok For Businesses: the new multifunctional advertising tool for businesses seeking to tap into the huge potential market of TikTok users.

With TikTok for business, your creativity is sure to have a clockwise turnaround. Increasing your audience reach, engagement, brand awareness and eventually sales, are all unique results you can achieve using TikTok as a marketing tool for your business.

TikTok for Business also offers:

  • TikTok Paid ads services.
  • Content trafficking to external websites.
  • Partnering access to top TikTok influencers.
  • TikTok Content Analytics to observe and report when your content is trending.
  • Minute-by-minute performance tracking.

The latest TikTok user statistics show that there are 386.6 million TikTok users between the ages of 18 to 24, and they make up 43.7% of the platform’s users worldwide—the largest of all age groups.

This is definitely not an opportunity to miss if your audience can be found on TikTok.

Despite its competition with rival social media apps like Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, TikTok is still the fastest-growing social media channel among marketers in 2022.

How to go LIVE on TikTok

Tiktok has two major requirements you must meet before going LIVE:

  • First, you must be above 16 years of age, this is ascertained by your birthdate when you initially create your TikTok account.
  • Secondly, you will need to have at least 1,000 followers.

Here is a simple guide to going LIVE on TikTok:

1. Open the app and tap the create icon (+) at the bottom of the screen.

2. Select LIVE from the menu.

Once you select LIVE, you’ll be able to see a preview of your video feed. In the preview, you can add a title to your Livestream, turn comments on or off, add effects or filters, and share your Livestream through connected social media platforms or a messaging service.

3. When you’re ready, tap ‘Go LIVE’ to begin streaming your video.

4. Once you’ve finished with your Live event, simply tap the power button on the bottom of the menu screen to end your stream.

5. Unlike a pre-recorded video that you take time to create, edit and post to your TikTok feed afterwards, a Livestream will disappear as soon as you’re finished, so enjoy it while you can!

However, TikTok records your LIVE session and you can access it in Settings and privacy > LIVE Replay. You can then choose to replay your LIVE, download it to your device and post it afterwards.

Best time to post on TikTok

Check our detailed blog to find out the best time to post on TikTok

Because of the continuous round-the-clock bustle of TikTok, finding the best time to post on TikTok will differ depending on the time zone of your audience and the day of the week.

For working days like Mondays to Thursdays, the best time to post will be the early hours of the day. Most people check updates on social media before starting their day’s activities. Also between lunch hour users get onto their TikTok to refresh or pass the time.

Then finally before the late hours, when most people are starting to retire from the day’s work they ease up on TikTok before passing out.

During the weekend there’s longer stay time and more activities on TikTok because of free time and fewer work activities for some. It will be good to use your discretion but avoid posting late at night as engagements are usually less.

Influencer marketing hub analysed over 100,000 posts to get an estimate of the best times to post on TikTok based on the highest engagement rates, and here are the results (all in EST and ignoring sectors):

Best Times to Post on TikTok:

  • Monday: 6 AM, 10 AM, 10 PM

  • Thursday: 9 AM, 12 AM, 7 PM

The TikTok algorithm

What Is the TikTok Algorithm?

The TikTok algorithm is a system designed to show users relevant content based on their interests. The platform uses TikTok’s own very personalized content delivery algorithm.

According to TikTok: “the For You feed reflects preferences unique to each user. The system recommends content by ranking videos based on a combination of factors – starting from interests you express as a new user and adjusting for things you indicate you’re not interested in, too – to form your personalized For You feed.”

The TikTok algorithm is based on each user’s responses, engagement (likes, comments, shares), completions, re-watches, previous interactions, user interests (caption keywords, sounds, hashtags, effects), and location.

Factors that don’t affect the TikTok algorithm:

The Tiktok algorithm does not factor in the number of followers you have and your previously well-performed content to rank your new content.

Every content posted can go viral once it meets the algorithm standard.

Marketers need to look past the fun and entertainment on Tiktok to harness ways to grow their business.
